Larry L. Bender

Larry L. Bender, 73, of Landisville, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Moravian Manor. Born in Columbia on October 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Norman and Pearle (Daihl) Bender. 

Larry served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Saratoga – CV60. He was a senior IT infrastructure analyst for Highmark Insurance Company, Hershey. He enjoyed traveling to Potter County and was a huge Phillies fan.

He is survived by a brother Lynn Bender (Jean) of Columbia, two sisters Elaine Rhen of Landisville and Linda Weidler (Leonard) of Coudersport; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at Landisville Mennonite Cemetery, 315 Camp Meeting Road, Landisville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Moravian Manor Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, 300 W. Lemon St., Lititz, PA 17543 or to a favorite charity.

Larry’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Moravian Manor for their great care since he arrived in May.
