Kenneth S. “Ken” Crills, 89, of Manheim, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019. He was born on May 27, 1930, in Martindale, and was the son of the late Charles H. and Annie Sensenig Crills. Ken was the loving husband of Betty J. Haldeman Crills and they would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Sept. 13. In his younger years, Ken worked for Victor Weaver’s Poultry, New Holland and Spangler’s Flour Mill, Mt. Joy. He retired as a truck driver from Nolt’s Ponds, Silver Springs. Ken was a dedicated member of Manheim Grace Brethren Church. He and his beloved wife, Betty enjoyed traveling but his favorite time was spent surrounded by his family both two-legged and four-legged.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Warren K. husband of Lora Taylor Crills, Manheim, and David L. husband of Sadie Smucker Crills, Leola; 2 grandsons, Joshua D. husband of Billie Jo Wall Crills, Columbia and Ethan Crills, Sheafferstown; 2 granddaughters, Linde D. Symonkhonh, wife of Philip, Manheim and Tianna N. Stoneback, wife of Cody, Ephrata; one great-grandson, Dylan and a great-granddaughter, due in September. He is also survived by 4 brothers; Harold S., Robert S., Harvey S., and Jay S. Crills and a sister, Grace S. Gerhart, all of the Ephrata area. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan T. Crills and sister, Irene S. Zartman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Grace Brethren Church of Manheim, 333 East High Street, Manheim on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeffrey L. Dunkle officiating. There will be a viewing at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in West Green Tree Brethren Cemetery, Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, prayerfully consider sending donations in Ken’s memory to Grace Brethren Church of Manheim.
