Kenneth F. Sangrey, 76, of Lancaster, went to be with our Lord peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank and Esther Stauffer Sangrey. He was the loving husband of Sallylee K. Shultz Sangrey. They observed their 54th wedding anniversary in November of last year. An Automobile Dealer most of his life, Ken owned and operated Sangrey's Auto Sales, Rohrerstown; and Superior Public Auto Auction, Manheim. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, where he served as a Stephen Minister and on numerous committees. He enjoyed Golfing, Bowling, Woodworking and especially Auto Racing. He was involved in Drag, Go-Kart, and Micro-Sprint Racing with his family. Ken also was Director of the Eastern US Grand Prix of Karting at Park City, along with promoting racing events at Garden Spot Auto Auction, Carlisle Fairgrounds, and Hunterstown Speedway as President in 1984.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sally, is a son, K. Gregory, husband of Carol Sangrey of Landisville, two grandchildren, Daniel and Christina Sangrey and a sister, Dolores Mumma of Lancaster. Preceding him in death was a brother, Ronald L. Sangrey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 South Duke Street, Lancaster on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Hempfield Church of the Brethren Cemetery, East Petersburg.
