Kenneth E. Brubaker, 82, of Landisville, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at his home. Born in Florin, he was the son of the late Reverend Earl C. and Margaret Ginder Brubaker. Ken was the loving husband of Mildred A. “Millie” Witman Brubaker and they observed their 58th wedding anniversary in May of this year. He was a tool and die maker at AMP, Inc., in Landisville and Mount Joy for 35 years, retiring in 1994. Ken served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an active and faithful member of the Hempfield Church of the Brethren, East Petersburg. Ken was a 1950 graduate of East Hempfield High School. In his early years he coached little league baseball in the Hempfield Youth Association League for several years. Ken also enjoyed taking the family to Ocean City, New Jersey where many fond memories were made.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Barry L. husband of Cheryl Eckinger Brubaker of Elizabethtown, K. Michael Brubaker of Conestoga, four grandchildren: Darianne Dukeman wife of R. J. Samples, Tara Brubaker wife of Dean Parmer, Gregory Brubaker husband of Elizabeth Patounas, and Lauren Brubaker; two great grandsons, Brayden Samples and Nikolaos Brubaker. Preceding him in death are two brothers: Ralph and J. Elwood Brubaker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Hempfield Church of the Brethren, corner of Stevens Street and Metzler Road, East Petersburg, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Landisville Reformed Mennonite Cemetery.
