Kay A. Yockey, 80, of Lancaster, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. Sr. and Anna Mary Bender Ellmaker. For over 33 years Kay was employed at Pfizer US Distribution Center, Lititz. Kay was an excellent seamstress, created wonderful Cross Stitching Art Pieces, a marvelous cook, and made the best peanut butter eggs this side of the Mississippi. She was an enthusiastic fan for the Pittsburgh Steelers; and a true animal lover and avid supporter of animal rights. Kay’s favorite quote and mission was “My Family Is My Life”, and she lived and showed that every day by her deep devotion to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.
Surviving are four daughters: Mary Ann Hayes, Christine Gharbi, Carol Myers, Sheri L. wife of Edwin Berilla all of Lancaster, two sons: Paul Eric Yockey of fiancé Sheila Fetter of Driftwood, Mark Hull of New Providence, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, one sister, Sue wife of John Lutchkus of Leola, and four brothers: Fred Jr. husband of Theresa Ellmaker of East Petersburg, Kenneth husband of Carol Ellmaker of East Petersburg, Barry husband of Catherine Ellmaker of Manheim, Ronald Ellmaker of Manheim. Preceding her in death is a grandson, Christopher Scott Herr, two brothers: Connie Ellmaker, Donald E. Ellmaker, and two sisters: Patricia Hartman, Sara Jane Ellmaker.
