Kathryn L. Garman, 84, of Lititz, died peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Rothsville, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Elva Birkenbine Long. Kathryn was the loving wife of Jacob B. Garman and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in November of last year. For over 51 years Kathryn was the owner and operator of Kathryn Garman’s Beauty Shop where she cared for her clients until her recent illness. She was a faithful and active member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rothsville. In her early years Kathryn and her husband enjoyed traveling with friends extensively throughout the United States. Her interests included flower gardening and baking. Kathryn loved talking with people and was a great friend to many. She had a deep passion for her family, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving in addition to her husband Jacob, is a daughter, Donna J. wife of Donald A. Sherman of Ephrata, a son, Randal D. husband of Holly L. Garman of Lititz, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a sister, Evelyn Ober of Ephrata. Preceding her in death is a brother, James Long and a sister, Alverta Moore.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Monday evening, July 31, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Rothsville.
