Katharine May Long

Katharine M. Long, 84, of Lititz, died on June 12, 2024 at Maple Farm Nursing Center. Born in Pottstown on October 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Maurice G. and Sarah Jane (Reifsnyder) Hartenstine. 

Katharine was a graduate of Millersville University and enjoyed teaching math for 28 years at Ephrata Junior High School. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking with herbs and dining out. She was a very active member of Iris Club of Lancaster.

Katharine is survived by a son Matthew J. Long of Lititz; a daughter Elissa K. Tobey of Lititz; her four beloved grandsons Trent P. Johnson of Lititz, Dylan M. Tobey of Pittsburg, Ian X. Long of Brownstown, Nicholas E. Long of Brownstown and two nieces Kathy Clarke of Norristown and Mary Messinger of Pottstown.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
