Judith P. Dourte

                Judith P. “Judy” Dourte, 84, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Lillian Miller Pierce. Judy was the loving wife of Rodger P. Dourte and they would have observed their 65th wedding anniversary in March. She retired as a service assistant from Prudential Insurance. She also worked for State Farm Insurance, PA Workman’s Compensation Insurance Fund, Hershey Food Employee Insurance, the Penn State Department of housing and as a Registrar for the PA Department of Vital Statistics. Judy served her community for over 40 years in local politics and government. She was a Lancaster County Democratic Committee Person, a Judge of Elections in Manheim’s 1st Ward, a member of the Ruth Mackley Democratic Club, Manheim, and served as Treasurer of the Cornwall High School Class of ‘57.

            Surviving in addition to her husband, Rodger, are five daughters; Brenda S. wife of Michael Reibson of Tunkhannock, Lisa A. wife of Terry Pfautz of Lititz, Marsha L. Dourte, Laura S. wife of Ronald Thompson of Wilmington, NC, and Melinda (Mindi) L. wife of Scott Esbenshade of Lititz, 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren (plus 3 on the way), and four brothers; Frederick, Robert, and Thomas Pierce of Lebanon and George Pierce of Middletown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela J. Sherman.

            Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Judy’s Funeral Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
