Judith A. Cassel, 74, of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was the loving wife of Hummer “Skip” Cassel and they observed their 55th wedding anniversary in June of this year. In her early years Judy was a Nurse’s Assistant at Lancaster General Hospital. She then worked many years as a sales clerk and seamstress for the former Alpert’s Department Store, Manheim. Judy also worked at her home as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren and served as a Sunday school teacher. Her interests included: cross word puzzles, reading, camping at Ricketts Glen, and spending time at the cabin “Loyalsock” in Laporte. Judy had a life -long passion for her family and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters: Sharon L. wife of Rick W. Sauder of Manheim, Cindy wife of Nevin Myer of Lititz, Cathy Cassel Jenkins of Manheim, six grandchildren: Shellie, Josiah, Jordan, Steffie, Austin, Brent, six great grandchildren, two sisters: Ruthanne wife of Alan Keating of Manheim, Marilyn wife of Curtis Creasy of Lancaster, and three half-brothers: Bob, Woody, and Kevin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Judy’s memorial service in the Chapel at the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 West Orange Street, Lititz, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
