Joyce L. Hess

Joyce L. Hess, 81, of Elizabethtown, died peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Masonic Village. Born in Denver, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Minerva Hoster Flicker. Joyce earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from McCann Business School, Reading. From 1988 to 2010 Joyce worked as a medical secretary for Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. An expert seamstress, Joyce created custom drapery for many clients in the Lancaster County area. Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabethtown Chapter # 407. Her interests included: needlepoint, reading, word search puzzles, rooting for her New England Patriots, and her favorite player Tom Brady. Joyce will miss her cats: Sneakers and Samson, and especially the Masonic Village Therapy Dog, Daisey.

Surviving is a son, Michael Hess companion of Ann Hood of Lancaster, a daughter, Lori wife of Kevin Royer of Lititz, three grandsons: Bradley Royer, Timothy Hess, Robert Hess, and a sister, Shirley Kurtz of East Petersburg.

Memorial services for Joyce L. Hess will take place at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
