Joyce Uhrich Brenneman, 87, of Manheim, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Elvin E. Brenneman who died in 2017. They had been married 61 years. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Charlotte (Wertz) Uhrich. Joyce had been a teller at Fulton Bank before retiring. After retirement, Joyce lived in the Wilmington, NC area for 12 years. She was a graduate of the J. P. McCaskey High School, Class of 1955. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and a book would always be found in her hands. She was a Girl Scout leader in the Manheim Community for many years and a sea turtle "nesting" volunteer when living in NC. Joyce was a dedicated researcher of her family Ancestry, which gave her much joy.
Surviving are four daughters, Catherine L. Lefever, Lebanon, PA, Brenda L., wife of John Kirkenir, Cranbury, NJ, Martha A., wife of Randy Clugston, Millersville, Leslie J., wife of Gerard Esmail, Englewood, NJ; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael, husband of Kathleen (Kane) Uhrich, Little Silver, New Jersey and 3 nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William K. Brenneman, Manheim.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster will be private.
