Joseph R. “Joe” Finn, 71, of Mount Joy, died peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his residence after a brave battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Nadine (Forte) Finn, and they celebrated 17 years of marriage this past September. Born in Queens, NY, Joe was the son of the late James and Ellen (Petell) Finn. After graduating High School, Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and served as a SP4 Helicopter Crew Chief. Joe had worked for East Hempfield Twp. as building/code inspector for 18 years before retiring, Joe then found employment in the maintenance dept. at QVC in East Hempfield Twp. Joe enjoyed woodworking as evidenced by the projects he completed, and one being his “man cave” honoring the Pittsburgh Steelers, and sharing his life with his 4-legged beloved friend, “Bubba”
Surviving in addition to his wife Nadine is a son Sandy, husband of Pam Finn of Mount Joy; 2 granddaughters, Melissa and Leila Finn; and two brothers James husband of Irene Finn of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Alexander husband of Anna Finn of Long Island city, NY. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Finn.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joe’s Celebration of Life Service, at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 7:00 PM. There will be a public viewing on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
