Joseph J. "Joe" Gallagher Jr., 65, of Lititz passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland following a lengthy illness. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Marie McNelis Gallagher. He was the loving husband of Janet Luiza Gallagher and they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in July. Joe worked forty years in the printing industry and retired as a press room superintendent at the former Quebecor in Atglen, PA. He also worked for the Baltimore Sun, News America and Alco Gravure Printing Company, Baltimore. Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Manheim Sportsman's Association and Knights of Columbus, Archbishop Francis P. Keough 4th Degree, Baltimore, Maryland. His interests included boating, reading and listening to country music. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Joseph R. husband of Jeannie Gallagher of Salem, Virginia and Patrick J. Gallagher of Lititz, four grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer, Trevor and Allyson Gallagher, aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends in Pasadena, Maryland and Lancaster, PA. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Daniel Gallagher. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Father Francis T. Menei as celebrant. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
