John T. Piaskowski, 80, of Manheim passed away at home on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Ignatius and Nellie Borcufsky Piaskowski. He was the loving husband of Harriet I. Kase Piaskowski and they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in September. John worked 34 years as a tool & die maker, class A, at RCA, Lancaster and later retired in 2001 from New Standard Corp., Hellam, PA. He graduated from the former Frackville High School in 1953 and he was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim. John was also a member of the Germania Band Club, Manheim and IAM, International Association of Machinists. His interests included fishing, hunting, Polka dancing and he enjoyed traveling to the Thousand Islands area in Canada.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, John P. Piaskowski companion of Lynne Weidner of Lititz, James I. Piaskowski of Manheim, Jerald C. husand of Cassandra L. Piaskowski of New Cumberland, a daughter, Trina M. Piaskowski of Manheim, three grandchildren, Travis J., Austin M. and Crystal A. Piaskowski and a sister, Alice wife of Charles Ganis of Reading. He was preceded in death by a son, John T. Piaskowski Jr. and two brothers, Thomas and Edward Piaskowski.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Catholic Church, 49 North Line Street, Frackville on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Monday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. There will be an additional viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in St. Casimir’s Polish Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, PA.
