John Michael “Mike” Lefever, 40, of Lititz, died peacefully at home following a five-year courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of John M. and Patti L. Weachter Lefever. Mike graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Lancaster, with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. For 16 years Mike worked as an Electronics Technician for Ultra Electronics, Lancaster. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz. Mike had a life-long passion for the outdoors; he spent countless hours enjoying spotting wildlife and bird watching from the family cabin in Sullivan County to watching for Eagles in the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area. He loved to drive his Jeep anywhere the roads would take him, and passionately root for his two favorite teams the Philadelphia Eagles football team, and his favorite soccer team Manchester United.
Surviving in addition to his parents John and Patti is a brother, Bryan M. husband of Krista Lefever of Lancaster, four nieces: Kelsi, Mackenzie, Elliet, Logan, a maternal grandmother, Gladys Weachter of Elm, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death is a maternal grandfather, William Weachter, and paternal grandparents: Patricia Lefever and John Lefever.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mike’s memorial service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 West Orange Street, Lititz, on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. The family wishes to encourage everyone attending the service to wear “Eagles” or casual attire for Mike’s service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
