John J. Fansler Jr., 67, of Lancaster, and formerly of Manheim, died at his home on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Pauline Floye Bingeman Fansler of Manheim, and the late John J. Fansler. John was the loving husband of Judy L. Weidman Fansler and they would have observed their 39th wedding anniversary on December 4th of this year. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For over 20 years John worked in the production department of Wyeth Laboratories in Marietta. He was a life member of the Manheim Township Fire Rescue Southern Manheim Station where he volunteered many years as a fire policeman. John enjoyed fishing at the family cottage in Peach Bottom; and in his early years loved to travel with his father to the family cabin in Centre County to go hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy is a daughter, Krista Fansler of Lancaster, and three granddaughters: Lauren, Kaitlin and Natalie.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
