John H. Hershey, 93, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clayton and Elizabeth Huber Hershey. He was the loving husband of the late Mary B. Garman Hershey who died in 2015. John retired as a dairy farmer in Penn Township. He was a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. John enjoyed gardening, cooking and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving are three children, Shirley A. wife of Benjamin H. Fisher of Manheim, Barry L. husband of Marilyn Hershey of Lititz, Karen E. wife of Dennis Shellenberger of Manheim, daughter-in-law, Linda Hershey of Mount Joy, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Levi husband of Vivian Hershey of Lancaster and a sister, Esther Ober of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a son, J. Marlin Hershey, brother, Clarence Hershey and a sister, Annie Keener.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Monday evening from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM and again at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in Graybills Brethren Cemetery, Elm.
