John H. Gingrich, 82, of Lebanon, passed away on January 6, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George Gingrich and Ada Miller. He shared 28 years of marriage with his loving wife, Nancy Hostetter Gingrich, who he called his guardian angel.
A graduate of Reading High School, John was a welder at Farmer Boy Ag in Myerstown, Lebanon Valley Enterprises and Hauck Manufacturing in Lebanon.
A great cook and religious man, he loved animals, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Phillies and the Red Sox. John was very sociable and liked going to the Farmstead Farmers Market in Hershey and talking with the standholders.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Dianne Strohm (David) Lebanon; Racheal Zeigler (Jeff) Lebanon and was preceded in death by a daughter Juanita Gingrich. He is also survived by step daughters, Kim Ingerick (Richard), Donna Meade (Gene), Joey Straw, Rose Kane and Lisa Meyer- Gonzales; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the Bindnagle Lutheran Church, 801 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, on Monday, January 11th for a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. with the Dr. Reverend Roger A. Bucy officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
His family requests that donations in his memory be made to Bindnagle Lutheran Church, 801 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
