John H. Boll, 92, formerly of Manheim, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Martha Oberholtzer Boll. He was the husband of the late Grace Witmer Boll who died in 2008 and his first wife, Edith Widders Boll who died in 1993. John owned and operated his own farm in Penn Township for many years. He also worked at the former Klein Chocolate Factory, Elizabethtown and at the former Ezra Martin Meats, Bridgeport. He also owned and operated the former John Boll Bolt Sales, Manheim. John was an active and faithful member of Hernley Mennonite Church, Manheim where he taught Sunday school, served on several committees and was the contact person for Mennonite Disaster Service for many years. He was considered the historian of Hernley Mennonite Church. John enjoyed reading, memorizing poetry, camping, family history and genealogy. Surviving are three daughters, Lorraine wife of Walter H. Shirk of Lititz, Mabel Jean wife of Dennis E. Baum of Manheim, Lois M. wife of William B. Stauffer of Liberal, Missouri, two sons, J. Nevin husband of Mary Stoltzfus Boll of Lititz, Jay H. husband of Lois Ginder Boll of Mount Joy, 7 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Nathaniel Aaron Sprenkle, four brothers, Noah, David, Norman and Joseph Boll, three sisters, Ella Boll, Martha Hoover and Anna Mary Boll. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the WEST BETHANY CHAPEL at Landis Homes Retirement Community, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM with George M. Hurst, Richard Buch, and Jay Peters officiating. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing in WEST BETHANY CHAPEL at Landis Homes on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
