John F. Brucker Jr., 84, of Manheim passed away at home on September 6, 2017. Born in Myerstown, PA he was the son of the late John F. Brucker Sr. and Mary Duffy Brucker. He was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School where he excelled at football and track. He attended Lycoming College before he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. After the war, he went into business as a self-employed auto mechanic and auto body specialist. He was the operator of Brucker's Garage in Manheim, PA. He was a member of Lebanon Elks Lodge 631 and Past Exhaulted Ruler. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Dela-Ches Fishing Association, Germania Band Club of Manheim and Elstonville Sportsman’s Club where he led the dart team to several championships. In his retirement he enjoyed wine making, spending time with his family and traveling, which he did often.
Surviving are two sons, John F. Brucker III and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Lebanon, Brian T. Brucker and Lebensgefährtin Jennifer Meinke of Leipzig, Germany and a granddaughter, Holly Leann Brucker. A brother Larry Brucker of Sanford, Florida. Sisters Marie Gingrich of Ephrata, PA and Susan Loehr of Lebanon, PA. He was preceded in death by his companion, Christine Brady, sister Ellen Weaver and brother Richard Brucker.
A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
