John E. Frederick, 81, of Manheim, died peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center. Born in Shelby, Ohio, he was the son of the late Howard D. and Gertrude L. Pane Frederick. John was the husband of the late Hilda R. Williams Frederick who died in October 2015. For over 19 years John worked in the warehouse for Armstrong World Industries; and for the last ten years prior to retirement served as supervisor. A proud veteran, John served in the United States Army. He attended Mount Hope United Christian Church, Manheim. John was a member of the Hershey Chocolatiers Drum and Bugle Corps, and “Our Gang” Camping Group. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and restoring classic cars.
Surviving is a son, Eric T. “Rick” Frederick of Manheim, two grandchildren: Jason Frederick, Krystal Cargril, thirteen great grandchildren, and two brothers: James H. husband of Pat Frederick of Zanesville, Ohio, and William E. Frederick of Eufaula, Oklahoma. Preceding him in death is a son, John E. Frederick Jr., and a brother, Keith Frederick.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s memorial service from the Mount Hope United Christian Church, 206 Cider Press Road, Manheim, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in John’s memory to: VA Lebanon Healthcare System, Voluntary Service Program, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Building 18, Lebanon, PA 17042.
