John D. Mowery

John D. Mowery, 73, of Manheim passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Born in Lancaster, John was the son of the late John R. and Marguerite Cover Mowery. John was the loving husband of Gladys (Miller) Mowery whom he was married to for 49 years. He was employed by the Fuller Company, Manheim for many years and retired from Hamilton Precision Metals, Lancaster. John was an avid fly fisherman and had a love for constructing his own fly fishing rods.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Kenneth husband of Doreen Mowery of Oregon and Tim Mowery of Manheim, three grandchildren and three sisters, Phyllis Hutcheon, Eileen Switzer, and Marguerite Kittinger. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Beach and Mary Lou Weidman.

The family is honoring John’s wishes of having no services.
