JoAnne G. Parks, 78, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz, following a brief illness. Born in Blain, Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Helen Smith Gutshall. JoAnne was the loving wife of Glenn K. Parks and they would have observed their 56th wedding anniversary in May of this year. In January 2000 JoAnne retired from Kunzler and Company, Lancaster, after working in the Accounts Payable & Receivable Departments for over 37 years. She was an active and faithful member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim, where she and her husband provided support in transporting equipment to the Creation Music Festival for 15 years that many members in the church attended. Her interests included: gardening, sewing, playing cards, all types of puzzles, cooking and watching Hummingbirds at camp in Perry County. She had a passion for her family and enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Antoinette “Net” wife of Art Gainer of Englewood, Fl., a son, Glenn K. Jr. husband of Sharon O’Donel Parks of Manheim, six grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
