Joan W. Keener

Joan W. Keener, 73 of 811 Creek Road Leola, formerly of East Petersburg passed away at home on Friday, August 20, 2010. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Dussinger Weller. She was the wife of the late John H. Keener. She was a 1955 graduate of Warwick High School and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was the co-founder of the "Zion's Angels" Relay for Life Team. Joan retired from her career at Bell Telephone Company. Joan was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed going to the beach with her family.
Surviving are two sons, John M. husband of Jody L. Barry Keener of Leola, Lee S. husband of Marian Freeman Keener of Lampeter; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Petrofske, Lucas and Tyler Keener; one brother, John "Jack" husband of Marian Weller of Marietta, Georgia.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment is in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, East Petersburg. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Joan's memory to Hospice of Lancaster County P. O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
