Joan Dalo Libonati, 93, of Lititz, formerly of Manheim, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Hazelton, on April 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jennie (Greco) Dalo. She was the wife of the late Lawrence A. Libonati.
Joan was a graduate of West Chester Teacher’s College, the Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing and received her Master’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology from Marywood College. She was a Registered Nurse in the Philadelphia School District for 33 years.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Lititz and formerly the Most Precious Blood Church, Hazelton. Joan was involved with the Crafters and Health Ministry at St. James. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, crafts, knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader. Joan was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving is a son Larry N. (Jennifer) Libonati of Columbia; two grandsons Christopher (Michelle) Libonati, Matthew (Yi-Ting) Libonati; two great grandsons Vincent and Charles Libonati; and two sisters Annette Cannon of Lansford and Rosemary Bianco of Lititz. She was preceded in death by a brother Ambrose Dalo and two sisters Anne Shershen and Gloria Grier.
A Mass will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 am, at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz. A visitation will be held from10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
