Joan E. Groff

Joan E. Groff, 91, of Newville and formerly of Manheim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Sarah Marks Boyd. She was the wife of the late, James C. Groff who died in 1991. Joan graduated in 1945 from the former Manheim High School and she attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim. She also volunteered at the Nearly –Nu Thrift Shop, Manheim.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn J. wife of Ken Hussar of Lancaster, Colleen G. wife of Jerome Johnson of Newville, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry A. Boyd and a sister, Barbara A. Swartz.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Manheim Grace Brethren Church, 333 East High Street, Manheim on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Jeffrey L. Dunkle officiating. There will be a public viewing from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
