Joan E. Boyer

          Joan E. Boyer, 79, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Virginia Sears Schafer. She was the loving wife of James E. Boyer and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in May of this year. Joan attended Victory Church, Lancaster, on-line. She enjoyed writing to people, including prisoners. Joan also enjoyed coloring, making flower arrangements, interior decorating, and serving her church in many ways. Joan loved the beach and her favorite football team was the Cowboys.

            Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Timothy J. Boyer of Dover, Scott husband of Gwen Boyer of Bainbridge, three daughters, Lisa wife of George Keyton of Elizabethtown and Tamara wife of Joseph Rineer of Manheim, and Chevonne wife of Brian DeHaven of Pittston, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a brother, Dr. Ronald husband of Deborah Schafer of Hummelstown. In addition to her parents, Harold and Virginia Schafer, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Boyer and daughter-in-law, Toni Boyer.
