Jeryldine B. "Jerry" Wolcott, 80, of New Holland, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edgar O. Sr. and Esther M. Henninger Beck. Jerry was the loving wife of William J. Wolcott who died in July of 1980. At the age of 15 Jerry was one of the youngest females in Lancaster County to earn her airplane pilot's license. In the 1950's Jerry started her career as an airline stewardess for American Airlines, she retired from the PA Turnpike after working many years. She was a very active and faithful member for more than 80 years of the New Holland American Legion Post 662 Auxiliary. In her early years she was an active member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, New Holland; and played saxophone for the New Holland Band. Jerry was a self taught artist, and enjoyed oil painting throughout her life. Surviving are two sons, Jess W. Wolcott of Gettysburg, James W. Wolcott of New Holland, three daughters: Jane W. wife of Don Farr of Mount Joy, Julia W. Wolcott, Judith W. wife of Mike Frantz all of Ephrata, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Wolcott and a brother, Edgar O. Beck. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at St. Stephen United Church of Christ 249 East Main Street, New Holland, on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
