Jeanne L. Damon, 91, formerly of Glenolden, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown, PA. She was married for 64 years to the late George L. Damon who died in 2006. Born in Noxen, PA (Wyoming Co.), she was the daughter of the late Ira E. and Lillie (Kibbler) Brown. She was a graduate of Pringle High School, class of 1938. She was a member of Chester Baptist Temple, and the Order of Eastern Star-Peace Chapter. Jeanne and her husband George were long time volunteers with the American Red Cross Disaster Team for over 40 years. She was also part of the Welcome Home Committee for the returning Desert Storm Troops at the Philadelphia Airport. She was an avid bowler, but her favorite past time was spending summers fishing in Ontario, Canada with her husband. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Beth, wife of Robert Garraty of Ridley Park, Ginger, wife of Sanford Gray of Westtown, Shelley, wife of Robert Casey of Glenolden; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Brown of CrumLynne; two sisters, Nancy Connery of Glenolden and Mary Pignone of the mid-west; a sister in-law Kathleen Brown of Harrisburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service from the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, on the grounds at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. Inurnment will be in the Sell Memorial Garden. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Saturday at Sell Chapel from 11:00 A.M until the time of the service. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne's name to the Arline M.
