Jeanette M. Schaeffer

  Jeanette M. Schaeffer, 83, of Peach Bottom, and formerly of Manheim, affectionately known as “Nanny” and “Gigi”, by her grandchildren; died Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Penn Medicine, Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Ruby Shuler Poole. Jeanette was the loving wife of the late Lester R, “Dick” Schaeffer Sr. who died in October of 2003. Jeanette worked many years as a nurse’s aid. Jeanette’s interests included: fishing, camping, especially at Berry Patch Campground in Honeybrook, crocheting, listening to Conway Twitty, and followed the racing career of her favorite NASCAR Driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. She was quite a dancer and was known throughout her family for her creative signature moves. Jeanette was deeply passionate for her family and cherished all the time she would spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

  Surviving are three sons: Paul L. husband of Michele Rosenkrans of Elizabethtown, Mark A. husband of Jina Rosenkrans of Manheim, Lester R. Jr. husband of Angela Schaeffer of Jacksonville, FL, a daughter, Leslie R. wife of Glenn Koehler of Peach Bottom, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and a brother, John “Jack” Poole of Altoona. Preceding her in death is a daughter, Robin Bolen, and a sister, Anna “Peggy” Mowery.

  At the request of Jeanette there will be no services.
