Jay R. Hossler, 71, of Manheim, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Harry and Lillie Stoner Hossler. He was the loving husband of Gladys Houck Hossler and celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in August of last year. Jay retired from Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster and following retirement he worked for Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Oregon Pike, Lancaster. Jay had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh that everyone enjoyed. He loved going to the beach and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Vicki Hampton companion of Kerry Beck of Manheim, Jay R. Jr. husband of Elizabeth Boyer Hossler of Hanover, two grandchildren, Gregory Scott Hampton II companion of Melissa Schnaithmann, Abigail Grace Hossler, a great grandson, Gregory “Scott” Hampton III and two sisters, Ruth Baker and Helen wife of Carl Moyer both of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Zeigler and two brothers, Martin and Harry Hossler Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township.
