Jay L. Faus Jr., 67, of Manheim, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Verna M. Ginder Faus of Manheim, and the late Jay L. Faus Sr. Jay was the loving husband of Marlene C. Smith Faus and they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in October of last year. He retired from The Jay Group; previously, he was employed by Agway Corporation, and for many years worked for E E Shenk and Sons, Elizabethtown. Jay was a member of the Chiques Church of the Brethren, Manheim. His interests included: camping at the shore and at Knoebels Park in Elysburg, working in his garden and growing saffron. He had a life-long passion for his family and enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife, is a daughter, Vicki L. wife of Rick Beale Jr. of Lititz, three grandchildren, Kaylie, Zachary, Emily, three sisters, Shirley A. Dellinger of Akron, Mary Jane wife of Leroy Sollenberger of Allentown, Thelma E. wife of Marlin E. Shellenberger of Manheim, three brothers, David D. husband of Kathy Faus of Landisville, John H. husband of Beckee Faus of Manheim, and Larry E. husband of Rose Faus of Willow Street.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
