Janice L. Stoner, 77, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen Bressler Schreiner. Janice was the loving wife of Clair E. Stoner and they observed their 55th wedding anniversary in October of last year. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim. Janice graduated from West Reading Hospital nursing program as a registered nurse. Janice worked in the nursing profession at the former St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster, in the mental health wing for over 22 years; previously, she was employed at the Lancaster General Hospital, and for Dr. Weaver, Manheim as a private duty nurse. Janice enjoyed reading, traveling, collecting “Teddy” bears, fishing, and going to the family cabin: “Pine Tree Lodge” in Mifflin County.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Debra L. wife of James R. Weidman of Conestoga, Kathy Lawn of Manheim, sister-in-law, Carmela Schreiner of Carneys Point, NJ, two nephews: Michael and Vincent Schreiner, and an aunt, Faye Witters of Lebanon. Preceding her in death is a brother, Lee Schreiner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment is in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
