Janet M. Ott

 Janet M. Ott, 87, of Manheim, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities, Manheim. Born in East Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Posey Lee Shockley and the late Dorothy Ogle Jennings. She was the loving wife of the late David R. Ott who passed away in 2009. Janet was a member of Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church in East Earl, where she served as a deacon.

Janet was a 1955 graduate of Manheim Central High School. She worked for years as a secretary at Schick Incorporated in Lancaster, followed by similar work at Rutt Custom Cabinetry in Goodville. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed reading, counted cross stitching, knitting, and listening to country music. She also enjoyed playing a friendly game of pinochle with family.

 Surviving is a son, David R. Ott, Jr. of Adamstown, a son-in-law, Jerry Lind of Landisville, a granddaughter, Jennifer (Lind) Boaman, a great granddaughter, Paige, both of Lancaster, and a sister, Ruth A. Packard of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy L. Lind, a sister, Mozelle Billips, and a brother, Robert E. Shockley.
