Janet L. Miller

Janet L. Miller, 85, of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 29, 2018. Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Alta Platt Hoffman and the stepdaughter of the late Clarence Hoffman. Janet was the loving wife of Pat G. Miller and they observed their 38th wedding anniversary in September of last year. Janet retired from J.C. Penney, Lancaster, where she worked as a sales clerk for over 20 years; previously she was employed for over 24 years at the former Schick Incorporated, Lancaster. She attended Calvary Church, Lancaster; and was a graduate of East Lampeter High School where she was an active member of the alumni association at the school. Her interests included collecting gospel music, reading, making scrap books, gardening, and enjoying a good snow storm. Janet loved traveling to the Outer Banks any chance she could get; and she dearly loved her cats.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Pat, are two daughters: Sharon wife of Tony Scheid and Lynda Nolt companion of Stephan Groff Sr. all of New Holland, three grandchildren: Ian Titus, Ryan Titus, Greg husband of Cathy Groff, three great grandchildren: Shalyn Titus, Tristan Vaughn, Corey Vaughn, and two sisters: Marlene wife of Frank Barley of Millersville, and Darlene wife of Brent Snyder of Willow Street. Preceding her in death are two brothers: Galen and Carroll Hoffman.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
