Jane M. Siegrist

Jane M. Siegrist, 90, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully following a short illness on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg. Born in Salisbury Township, she was the daughter of the late Irvin E. and Mary S. Hostetter Denlinger. Jane was the loving wife of Clarence S. Siegrist and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2013. A dependable and constant worker throughout her life, Jane worked for Wilbur Chocolate, Lititz, shared farming with her husband, cleaned for private residences, as well as cleaning for Ethan Allen Furniture and East Petersburg Mennonite Church for over 33 years. She and her husband were faithful and active members of East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Her interests included baking, sewing, and gardening. Jane had a real passion for music. She was a kind, caring, loving person, who was always cheerful and thoughtful of others. Many people were blessed by a card they received from Jane written in her elegant penmanship.

Surviving in addition to her husband Clarence, is a daughter, Beverly A. wife of Herbert L. Steffy of Palmyra, a daughter, Audrey J. wife of Dale W. Yoder of Mount Joy, a son, Arlan D. Siegrist of Lancaster, a daughter, Michelle J. Sheaffer of Lancaster, six grandchildren: Luanne Steffy of Etters, Lynette Steffy of Garnerville, NY, Julie (Mike) Hasircoglu of Lancaster, Melanie Yoder of Mt. Joy, Paul (Julia) Sheaffer III of New York, NY, Alexis (Jonathan) Curreri of Brooklyn, NY, four great grandchildren: Olivia and Violet Hasircoglu, Jane Sheaffer, Aniela Curreri, and three brothers: Leon H. (Donalene) Denlinger of York, Carl I. (Arcenia) Denlinger of Philadelphia, and Nelson C. (Ruth) Denlinger of Bethesda, MD. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Charlotte Hasircoglu, a sister, Mary E. Martin, and a brother, Clifford E. Denlinger.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with additional viewing on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Those desiring may send contributions in Jane’s memory to the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520.
