Jane E. “Tick” Bortner, 72, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Born in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Glen L. and Pearl A. Wilson Emlet. She was the loving wife of Mervin D. Bortner Jr. and they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in August. Retired in 2008, Jane worked for over thirty years at the former Tyco in Lancaster and Mount Joy. She was a member of Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church and the Lawn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Jane enjoyed collecting animal figurines and she loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Mervin D. III husband of Priscilla Bortner of Troy, two daughters, Laura wife of Bruce Weaber of Lebanon and Glenda Pearl Jones wife of Gus Hince of Columbia, eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a brother, Rodney E. husband of Barbie Emlet of Wrightsville.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church, 5566 Elizabethtown Road, Lawn on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
