James B. Piersol

          James B. “Jim” Piersol, 77, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27, 2024 after a long illness surrounded by his daughter and family. Born in Mount Joy, he was the oldest son of the late James Jr. and Dorothy Gantz Piersol. He was the husband of Mary E. Kopp Piersol with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and a good round of golf. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time at his cabin in Potter County. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era and was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim.

          Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, is a daughter, Sue Ann wife of Dean W. Murphy of Lebanon, a stepdaughter, Karen L. wife of Steve Huber of Lancaster, a stepson, Scott Ginder of Manheim, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild, two sisters, Donna wife of George Rodriguez of Brookville, Kristal wife of Eric Kleinfelter of Delaware, and two brothers, Kenneth M. husband of Cindy Piersol of Milton Grove and Terry A. Piersol of Mount Joy.

          Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jim’s Funeral Service at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Family will receive friends and family during a Visitation-Viewing at the church from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers those who wish may send contributions in Jim’s memory to Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim.
