James M. “Jim” Forry, 87, of Mount Joy, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, Columbia. He was the widower of the late Marian A. (Bortzfield) Forry. Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Russell A. and Edna (George) Forry. Jim was a vacuum heat treater at the former Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster for 23 years before retiring in 1990. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Mount Joy. He was also a member of VFW Post 5752 of Mount Joy, and the American Legion Post 466 of Marietta. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of the Ashara-Casiphia Lodge #551 F&AM of Mount Joy, Harrisburg Consistory, and the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection.
Surviving is a daughter Yvonne A. wife of Charles Brown of Mount Joy, two grandchildren Heather (Thomas) Kinsey of Mount Joy, Kevin (Julia) Farmer of Landisville; five great grandchildren Megan & Brooke Kinsey, and Kurt, Joshua, & Dylan Farmer; a great-great grandson Peyton Metzger; and a faithful companion Betty Stauffer of Mount Joy. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother Albert Forry and a sister Edna Robinson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Henry Eberle Cemetery, Mount Joy. There will be a public viewing on Monday at the Buch Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
