James M. Conner, 65, of Ephrata, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Abington Memorial Hospital. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Foster and Martha Gibbons Conner. Jim worked for 25 years at Pennsy Supply, Hummelstown. He was the husband of Janet H. Tarker Conner and they observed their 25th wedding anniversary in June of last year. Jim enjoyed watching football and rooting for his Green Bay Packers, he also was a NASCAR fan and would root for his favorite driver Jimmy Johnson. He was known throughout his neighborhood for helping people with home projects; he enjoyed walking and meeting friends and their pets. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Beverly, Dana, two step-sons, David Beard of Temple, Christopher Beard of Ephrata, one granddaughter, one step-granddaughter, Victoria Beard, a sister-in-law, Fern Conner of Mount Joy, three brothers, Russell Conner of Rothsville, Larry husband of Anna Conner of Middletown, and John Conner of Mississippi. Preceding him in death are two sisters, June, Mary and three brothers, Robert, Lester, and Richard "Frosty" Conner. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a public viewing on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
