James Lamar Stark, 71, of Lititz, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Harold W. Sr. and Kathryn M. Sweigart Stark. He was the loving husband of Donna J. Schermick Stark and they observed their 37th wedding anniversary in April of last year. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy and spent two years in Vietnam during the war. For over 25 years Jim worked at Wilbur Chocolate Co. in Lititz until his retirement. In his early years Jim loved hunting and fishing. Always with a servant’s heart Jim loved doing volunteer work and was a volunteer Chaplain at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Jim loved the Lord, and loved people of all walks of life, and was a member of the Worship Center, Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to his wife Donna, is a step daughter, Megan A. wife of Krish R. Murthy of Shelton, CT., a daughter, Gina Stark Goshert of Lancaster, a son, Justin Stark of San Diego, CA, two adopted sons: Lester Stark of Reading and James Stark Jr. of Reinholds, two grandsons: Prashant L. Murthy and Chandra K. Murthy of Shelton, Ct., three sisters: Dianne K. wife of Larry L. Paul of Stevens, Joyce E. wife of Fred L. Garman of Ephrata, Patricia A. wife of Ricky E. Landis of Denver, and a brother, Michael L. Stark of Reinholds. Preceding him in death is a brother, Howard W. “Butch” Stark Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Longenecker’s Brethren Cemetery, Lititz. Please omit flowers.
