James Joseph Miller, 82, of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, formerly of York and Lewistown, died unexpectedly, Sunday December 17, 2017. He was the loving husband of Carole L. (Bott ) Miller who died in 2013. Born in Lewistown he was the son of the late Richard L. Sr. and Claudine L. (Goss) Miller. Jim had work as a machinist for York International before retiring after 30 years of service. He was a former member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church of Lewistown and a former member, former board member and Sunday School teacher at Calvary United Methodist Church of York. He attended the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at Masonic Village. He was a member of White Rose Lodge #706 F&AM York and was also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Jim enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and traveling in his motor home.
Surviving are three daughters Kathleen A. wife of David Smith, York, Holly J. wife of Dyson Johnson, Delmar MD, Cindy J. wife of Clarence Saxman, York; two grandchildren Cory Grove and Crystal Saxman; two great- grandchildren Cohen Wolfe and Alyssa Payne; and a sister Jayne A. Priar, Lewistown. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Richard L. Miller, Jr. and Thomas I. Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Service at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village Elizabethtown on Friday December 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends at Sell Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Viewing and Interment will be private.
