James E. Jim Huber, 75, of 113 Shannon Drive Lancaster died unexpectedly on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Ira B. and Elizabeth B. Kreider Huber. He was the husband of Nancy L. Witman Huber and they would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in December of this year. Jim was a four-term Lancaster County commissioner and longtime community activist. He was a 1953 graduate of Manheim Central High School and a 1958 graduate of Wheaton College, Illinois. Jim was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Matthew Huber of Haiti, Gretchen wife of Dale Shenk of East Petersburg, Mark Huber of Lancaster and three grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin and Thomas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Huber.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
