James D. “Jim” Conrad, 73, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 19, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Pauline Bair and Levi Conrad. Jim retired as a lifelong machinist for The Fuller Company, Manheim after 40 years of service. He was very active as a younger man and enjoyed riding his dirt bike, competing in hill climb and enduro competitions. Jim also enjoyed camping and watching old WWII documentaries. He was a wonderful father and will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by his two children; Michael, husband of Carol Conrad of Denver, PA and Tracy Downing, of Aurora, CO; seven grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Roth and several nieces. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Conrad. The family also would like to thank Rachelle Toms, who acted as his devoted caregiver, allowing Jim to pass away peacefully at home.
At the request of the family, Jim’s life celebration and remembrance will be held privately with family and friends in attendance.
