Jacob W. Nissley
Jacob W. Nissley, 90, formerly of 591 Fruitville Pike, Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Mabel F. Wenger Nissley. Jake was the husband of Alverta Birkenbine Nissley who died in 2001. In his early days he worked as a carpenter, and following retirement was employed at the Manheim Auto Auction. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Jake was well known for his broom making which he continued for 60 years. He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is a daughter, Donna Good, three brothers: Amos, Harvey, and Emerson Nissley, and four sisters: Irene Brosey, Miriam Wizar, Lena Stauffer, and Mildred Jordan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jake’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery.
