J. Kenneth "Ken" Geib

January 26, 1941 — April 6, 2019

J. Kenneth “Ken” Geib, 78, of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Mary I. Greiner Geib. Ken was the loving husband of Geraldine B. “Gerry” Lausch Geib and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in March of this year. For many years Ken was owner and president of Electrical Construction By M/L, Inc., Manheim. He was a very active member, and past president of Associated Builders and Contractors, Keystone Chapter, Manheim. Following retirement, Ken worked for Haller Enterprises, Inc., Lititz; and most recently part time for the City of Lebanon as a housing inspector and graffiti abatement officer.

In his early years Ken served as a part time police officer for Penn Township; he also served as a volunteer police officer for Manheim Borough. He also volunteered as a fire policeman for the Manheim Fire Company and gave of his time for the Manheim Ambulance Association and served as its president for a number of years. Ken served as Emergency Management Coordinator for Manheim Borough and on the town’s Zoning Board. Ken was an active member of the Manheim Historical Society and volunteered many hours on construction projects for the society. Ken had a pure love for motorcycling and traveling with his wife Gerry on trips both near and far. He enjoyed gold prospecting and metal detecting anytime he could find an opportunity. Ken’s deep passion was his family and experiencing the great outdoors. Spending time at the family cabin in Blain called “Our Corner of The World” was like heaven to Ken, being able to be with his family and walk through the woods and experience nature. He had a servant’s heart to help people from all walks of life.

Surviving in addition to his wife Gerry, is a daughter, Deborah M. “Deb” wife of Daniel G. Ranck Sr. of Lititz, a son, J. Edward “Ed” husband of Lynne Snyder Geib of Marietta, two brothers: G. Richard “Dick” husband of Doris Geib, Jere L. Geib companion of Eileen Snavely all of Manheim. Preceding him in death is a brother, Charles W. Geib, three sisters: Barbara Sides, Kathryn Ditzler, and Christine Brady.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ken’s memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook Cemetery.
