J. Clifford “Cliff” Gehman Jr., 72, formerly of Lancaster and Lititz, is at peace with his Lord as he passed away at his home in Elizabethtown, on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Betty Howell Gehman of Lancaster, and the late John Clifford Gehman Sr. Cliff was the loving husband of Linda Dagen Gehman and they observed their 10th wedding anniversary in September of this year. He worked in the customer service department for the Jay Group, Lancaster, previously he was employed as a technician for Schwalm Watch and Dial Company, Lancaster for many years. Since the early 1950’s Cliff was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, where he had served as an Elder and Board Trustee. He was a member of the Lancaster Jaycees and had served as an officer. Other memberships included the Photography and Computer Clubs of Lancaster. Cliff was well known for his photography and had presented his photographs at many art shows locally. He was a devoted son, and provided great care to his mother over the years where she resided at Homestead Village in Lancaster, and was a welcomed visitor by many residents there. He had a deep passion for the beach, and loved to travel to Stone Harbor to walk on the sand, take photographs, and surf fish with his wife. Cliff will miss spending his special time with his rescue Labrador retriever dog, named Lucy, which provided so much joy to him.
Surviving in addition to his wife Linda and his mother Betty is a brother, Tony Gehman, his wife Paula and their children David, Sam, and Paige all from Towaco, NJ. In addition Cliff is survived by sister-in-law Nancy Dagen, and brother-in-law Ed Dagen, his wife Tina and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Cliff’s Celebration of Life Service at the Homestead Village, Glasford Room, 1800 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family in the Glasford Room on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery, Ephrata Township.
