Irvin M. Forry, 97, formerly of Rapho Twp. and Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster, died peacefully Thursday December 22, 2016 with his family by his side at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Greenawalt) Forry who died in 2001. Born in Rapho Twp. he was the son of the late Benjamin E. and Mary (Musser) Forry. Irvin had worked for the former Pennsylvania Malleable Co, Lancaster 1964-1966; M&M Mars Corp., Elizabethtown from 1966 until he retired in 1985; and had worked part time for the Manheim Auto Auction. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy. Prior to his wife’s passing they enjoyed traveling together to destinations like California, Alaska, and Europe. He also enjoyed farming, and was an avid reader of the daily newspaper.
Surviving is a daughter Nelda M. wife of Steven E. Bender, Lancaster; two grandsons Duane Bender, and Dustin (Megan) Bender; three great-grandchildren Garrett, Raelyn, Dinah; and a brother B. Musser husband of Anna Forry, Manheim. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Henry & John Forry, and two sisters Anna Mary Lehman and Miriam Forry.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church, 1756 Mount Pleasant Rd., Mount Joy, on Tuesday December 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
