Hyla J. Mowrer

Hyla J. Mowrer, 82, of Lancaster, formerly of Lititz, died on Friday December 6, 2024 at the Abbeyville Nursing and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Howard E. Mowrer. Born in Lancaster on March 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Emil S. and Mary (Boyd) Neff.

Hyla was a 1960 graduate of Warwick High School. She was a bank teller for Ephrata National Bank and also worked for Sensenich Corp. for 11 years. Hyla was a member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, the Warwick Ambulance for 11 years, the American Legion Post 56, the Red Rose Snowmobile Club-Manheim and the God’s Country Black Forest Snowmobile Club-Galeton. 

She is survived by a son Kevin Roth of Charleston, SC; two step-sons Larry Mowrer of Lititz, Lorne Mowrer of Lititz; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 West Orange Street, Lititz.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
