Howard R. Stalnecker, Jr., 78, of Maytown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 4, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Linda (Guthrie) Stalnecker, and they observed their 38th wedding anniversary in October. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Howard R. Sr. and Jean (Granger) Stalnecker. Howard was a hot mill maintenance foreman for ALCOA of Lancaster for 16 years before retiring in 1990. He later worked 9 years as an EMT for the White Rose Ambulance of York and he was a volunteer for the former Maytown Ambulance Assoc. Howard was a faithful member of Community Bible Church of Marietta. His other interest included fishing, family camping trips hunting, and reading.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Janet Pettyjohn of Lititz, Douglas, Jeffrey, and Kelly Stalnecker all of Lebanon, Jennifer McLimans of Maytown, Howard R. Stalnecker,III of Hanover, James Stalnecker of Manheim, Michael Stalnecker of Marietta and Matthew Stalnecker of Maytown; twenty grandchildren; and a sister Susan Long of Annville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son James.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Community Bible Church, 331 Anderson Ferry Rd. Marietta, PA on Monday March 9, 2015 at 7:30 PM. There will be public viewing on Monday at the church from 6:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.
